Social media help

Want to get your social media working for you efficiently, but don’t really know where to start or how to do it? The Word Bird is here to help you understand social media, get started and get on top of everything!

Firstly, if you don’t know your hashtags from your Hootsuite, you’re not alone!

Many small businesses find themselves in this position all the time. Nowadays a lot of PR and brand building happens on social media and it can be a very effective (and cost-effective) way to reach your audience.

However, it can be quite tricky getting to grips with it all, particularly if you’re not really IT-inclined!

It doesn’t have to be overly complicated and you really will only need to get the hang of a few of the social media platforms. Depending on the type of business, the key social media platforms for most small businesses are:

  • LinkedIn
  • X (Twitter)
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest

You will probably only use a few of them. I will help you get to know your way around these key platforms and get them working efficiently for your business.

Other marketing material / graphics via Canva design

I use Canva Pro to create graphics for clients – whether that’s graphics for Insta posts and stories, logos, magazine ads, online ads, banners, invites, posters etc.

WordPress Websites

I am not a professional “website designer”, in that I don’t design complicated websites, however I know my way around WordPress and have effectively designed and created WordPress blogs / websites for my own and other people’s businesses, communities and organisations.

WordPress hosted sites account for almost half of all US websites, so it’s a proven platform to create great business website and very easy to manage,

Your options

Everyone needs different help and I will address each client’s needs on an individual basis. I can tailor activity to suit your business, but essentially most clients will go for either retainer (set up and ongoing management) or project (set up only):

  1. Retainer – creation and on-going management: Advice on social media, creation, or consolidation and streamlining of your existing ones (including your blog), set up and full day-to-day management and updates of your social media accounts.
  2. Project – creation, consolidation and over to you!  Advice on social media, creation of new social media accounts or consolidation and streamlining of your existing ones (including your blog) plus tutorial on how to manage them efficiently yourself, how to save time and stress by using apps such as Hootsuite or Buffer and how to market yourself via social media. Then it’s over to you!
